It’s 2024 and Daniel Schreiber has just lost his lifelong friend, Jimmie Davis. After the funeral, filled with confused emotions, he seeks counsel from the new young parish priest. Finding Father Aubry to be a compassionate listener, he relates the story of how the two young boys of disparate races met while facing a life-or-death situation in 1962. Two years later, the passage of the Civil Rights Laws allowed Jimmie’s family to relocate from North St. Louis to Danny’s suburban neighborhood of Ferguson. The move enables Jimmie to join Danny’s group of friends as they engage in teen adventures throughout the year of 1964. Historically accurate, Ferguson shows the slices of day-to-day life in the sixties.
